Snow Day Activities For Having Fun With Family

Although they may sound exciting in theory, snow days can sometimes be frustrating and boring. It can be overwhelming inside, with no activities, because the kids are at home and the adults are there. There are plenty of things to do. Instead of letting the kids become more bored and making them behave, there are many fun activities you can do together to make the most of your day. Here are some things you can do as a family if you're home for a snow day.

Snow cones

Bring the wintery fun inside by getting the children to gather snowballs and bring them in to the kitchen. After they have collected the snow, place them in bowls and drizzle some lemon juice over it. You can also add food coloring to the cookies!

Hot Chocolate On A Stick

This tasty treat will also entertain your children during the preparation! All you need is marshmallows, chocolate chips and any toppings. Use lollipop sticks, skewers or spoons to help the children thread marshmallows on a lollipop stick or a skewer. Use a microwave to melt the chocolate chips and then spread it on marshmallows with a spoon. Be sure to have enough for each marshmallow! After that, transfer them to a baking sheet or a pan. Once they are done, put them in the refrigerator to set. For delicious hot chocolate, heat some milk in a saucepan and add the sticks.

Make a Snowman

There are many classic activities you can do when it snows. You can build a snowman, snow angels, or have a snowball fight with your entire family.

Bake cookies

You can bake if you want more activities inside, and not just to watch TV. It doesn't matter if you want to bake delicious cookies or something else, it will be educational for your kids and they will have a lot of fun. You can start with brownies or chocolate chips cookies if you are looking for something simple.

Indoor Obstacle Course

You can make an indoor obstacle course for your snow day adventures. This can be done with any number of items in your home - you are free to use them all!

Snow Painting

Get outside and let your imagination run wild with the children! Mix water and food coloring to paint snow. You can grab some plastic bottles and fill them up with various colors.
